What are the differences, advantages and disadvantages, and uses of led and lcd displays respectively?

LEDs and LCDs are both common types of displays and their differences, advantages and disadvantages and uses are as follows:

1, the difference

LED refers to displays that use light emitting diodes as the light source, while LCD refers to displays that use liquid crystals as the light regulator.

LED displays are self-luminous and therefore do not require a backlight, whereas LCDs require a backlight.

The response speed of LED displays is fast and can reach the millisecond level; the response speed of LCDs is relatively slow, generally at the millisecond to second level.

LED displays have a high contrast ratio, vivid colours and high brightness; LCD displays have a relatively low contrast ratio, but the brightness and colour vibrancy can be adjusted by backlighting.

2, Advantages and disadvantages

LED display advantages: high brightness, high definition, high contrast, long life, low power consumption, fast response time, vivid colours, high reliability.

Disadvantages of LED display: relatively high cost, difficult to manufacture.

LCD display advantages: relatively low cost, mature manufacturing process, high colour reproduction.

LCD display disadvantages: low contrast ratio, limited viewing angle, slow response time.

3, use

LED display screen is suitable for outdoor advertising screen, stage show, display exhibition and other occasions that need high brightness and high definition.

LCD display is suitable for TV, computer monitors, mobile phones and other occasions that require high colour reproduction and small viewing angles.
